What both variants have in common
Both classic and non-prep veneers are wafer-thin ceramic shells applied to the visible front teeth. They optically correct colour, shape and small gaps and create a natural, harmonious smile. Both are aesthetic treatments and are usually not covered by health insurance.
The difference: how much tooth is ground down?
For an optimal fit, a very thin layer of enamel is minimally ground down. A proven, versatile procedure — also for stronger discolouration or larger shape corrections. From CHF 1’900 per tooth.
Particularly thin — in many cases without any or with only minimal preparation. The healthy tooth substance is largely preserved, usually without anaesthesia. From CHF 2’400 per tooth.
Ground-down enamel does not grow back. That is exactly why touching as little healthy tooth substance as possible is a real advantage — provided the starting situation allows it.
Our approach: align first, then beautify
A point that is very important to us: the veneer treatment is often preceded by a short aligner therapy — usually only about 8–10 weeks. With it we bring the dental arch and tooth position into an ideal shape. The advantage: if the teeth are already correctly positioned, the veneers can afterwards often be placed without or almost without grinding healthy tooth substance. Maximum aesthetics with maximum preservation of your own healthy teeth.
What does it cost?
Prices per tooth
The total price depends on the number of teeth and your starting situation; any aligner preparation is planned separately and transparently. We create the exact plan together in the consultation — without surprises.
Which variant suits me?
It depends on your tooth position, enamel thickness and desired result — not every starting situation is suitable for non-prep veneers. We advise honestly which path makes sense for you. You'll find more details on our pages about classic veneers and non-prep veneers — or arrange a consultation at our practice at Löwenplatz in Zurich.
