General Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)
Applicable to all legal relationships between House of Smiles and our patients.
1. Scope
These T&Cs apply to all legal relationships between the dental practice of Nazanin Böhle, House of Smiles (hereinafter «we» or «us») and our patients. Upon conclusion of the contract they become an integral part of your contractual relationship with us.
2. Services of the dental practice Nazanin Böhle, House of Smiles
We provide services in the fields of dentistry, orthodontics and dental hygiene. Our offering is aimed at persons resident in Switzerland who are at least 18 years old and of sound judgement.
Treatment of minors is only possible when accompanied by, and with the written consent of, a legal guardian. We recommend that a legal guardian be present at all appointments.
The treatment of certain services (e.g. veneers or whitening) is excluded for minors.
Further information about our services can be found in our patient information and the consent form.
3. Treatment planning and quotes
Our prices and conditions are communicated to you in an individual treatment plan or quote before the start of treatment. The quote is valid for one month from the date of issue. After this period a new quote is required.
The treatment costs stated are based on the work known at the time of planning. Due to individual treatment courses, additional medical or technical requirements and adjustments during treatment, actual costs can vary by up to 15 %. Any additional costs are communicated to the patient in good time and invoiced accordingly.
4. Chargeable services
All services — including the initial consultation, smile-design discussion, diagnostic assessments, scans, X-rays, photo documentation and other preparatory measures — are subject to charge.
Services rendered up to the discussion of the aligner treatment or smile design will be invoiced according to the SSO tariff if no aligner treatment is started at House of Smiles within one month.
If you decide after the discussion to start an aligner treatment with us, the services already invoiced are taken into account in the cost estimate and deducted from the total amount of the treatment.
5. Payment terms
Invoices must be paid in full within the stated payment period.
For new patients, direct payment on site is required after the first appointment. House of Smiles reserves the right to provide certain services exclusively against immediate payment.
6. Reminders and collection
In the event of late payment a reminder is issued.
If full payment is not made within 14 days after the second reminder, House of Smiles reserves the right to forward the outstanding claim to a collection agency without further notice.
All resulting additional costs, handling fees, interest on arrears and collection costs are borne by the patient.
7. Instalment payments via third parties
Alternatively, we offer the option of instalment payments through third-party providers (e.g. Zaala AG). The terms and conditions of the respective third-party provider apply in this case.
For the processing of the financing, the necessary data is transmitted to the third-party provider. Fees, interest or other financing costs may apply.
8. Patient obligations
The patient is informed by the treating dentist about the following points and agrees to them:
A. Wear time of the splints
- Splints must be worn for at least 22 hours per day.
- Given instructions, including the use of elastics, must be followed.
B. Oral hygiene
- Teeth and splints must be cleaned regularly to avoid caries and disease.
C. Careful handling
- Splints are medical devices and must be handled with care.
- Damage or loss must be avoided.
D. Check-up appointments
- All check-up appointments must be attended to ensure a smooth course of treatment.
E. Communication
- Changes to contact details or state of health must be reported to us by the patient without delay.
F. Consequences of insufficient cooperation
- A satisfactory treatment result cannot be guaranteed if the patient does not follow the instructions.
- After more than three cases of compliance violations by the patient, treatment will be discontinued on our part.
- Additional laboratory costs for loss / damage of the splints (more than twice) are borne by the patient.
If these obligations are not met, we may refuse our services or invoice the costs incurred.
9. Warranty
Defective products (e.g. retainers or splints) are replaced free of charge within one year of issue, provided the defect is demonstrably due to a manufacturing or fitting error.
Damage caused by improper handling, non-compliance with instructions or external influences is excluded from our warranty.
It is at the practice's discretion whether a warranty case exists.
10. Patient information
We cannot guarantee the success of our treatments, as many individual factors can influence the results.
All treatment risks and instructions for the care of the products are communicated to you in the patient information and the consent form.
Please read these documents carefully.
11. Cancellations and no-show fees
Agreed appointments are binding. Cancellations or changes of appointments must be communicated to us by telephone or e-mail at least 24 hours before the appointment.
In the event of a no-show or short-notice cancellation (less than 24 hours before the appointment), we charge a no-show fee of CHF 100.–.
House of Smiles reserves the right to grant future appointments only against prepayment in cases of repeated short-notice cancellations or no-shows.
12. Disclaimer of liability
All dental treatments are carried out according to the current state of science.
However, a specific treatment result cannot be guaranteed by us.
Our liability is limited to proven gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
